Hitwise Fast Moving Search Terms Corey Delaney's Popularity Skyrockets Online 'corey delaney' reported as fastest moving search term. Melbourne - 24 January 2008 - Hitwise Australia, the leading online competitive intelligence service, today announced that the name of Narre Warren teenager 'Corey Delaney' featured as the fastest moving search term driving traffic to websites across all online industries for the week ending 19/01/2008. Corey Delaney received extensive media coverage since his out-of-control house party almost 2 weeks ago, and as a result has turned into a celebrity overnight. According to Hitwise, the weekly search term share of traffic generated by Corey Delaney was greater than the terms Kevin Rudd and Lleyton Hewitt combined. Hitwise's Fast Moving Search Terms report reveals what's top-of-mind amongst Australian Internet users and last week it was Corey Delaney. Other fast moving search terms last week included 'free stuff day', 'australian open 2008', 'cricket scores' and other search term variations for Corey.

Hitwise data also reveals that Slap Corey was the number 1 Entertainment - Humour website during the period 17/01/2008 - 19/01/2008. To date, as stated on the site, over 688,000 Internet users have slapped some 'sense' into Corey. The most successful website to receive traffic from 'corey delaney' during the 4 weeks ending 19/01/2008 was MySpace representing 11.12% of all traffic, followed by news.com.au (7.64%), and YouTube (7.08%).
